A cryotherapy cervix procedure is performed, if the cervical cells are infected with human papilloma virus and have genital wart or dysplasia. The tissues are frozen to -20 degrees. In the procedure, non-toxic gases (nitrous oxide carbon dioxid) are used. The term refers to a time proven ablative method of treating early stages of cervical dysplasia, which can be applied in outpatient settings. A cryotherapy cervix procedure is performed, if the cervical cells are infected with human papilloma virus and have genital wart or dysplasia.

Injuries or complications are rare, there is a minimal chance of bleeding during or after the procedure, it is the least expensive treatment for CIN.
