Cervical Cone Biopsy -
HPV, Vaginal Dysplasia
If an abnormal Pap smear has been found and confirmed by a colposcopy, a conization of the cervix may be recommended. This procedure removes a funnel shaped area from the cervix and canal. With this, all the abnormal cells should be gone and the sample can be tested for cancerous cells. A cervical cone biopsy of suspicious abnormal cells may be taken of an area demonstrating HPV vaginal dysplasia.
